Education
Jefferson went to the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He began college at age sixteen. At college, he studied Mathematics, Metaphysics, and Philosophy, taught by a professor with the name William Small. Small Taught Jefferson about the works of many people, such as Isaac Newton. He graduated from college in 1762.
Declaration of Independence
Jefferson played a huge role in the writing of the Declaration of Independence. he was in a committee of Five men. The document took seventeen days to write. Jefferson wrote "We hold these truths to be sacred and undeniable...." It was later changed by Benjamin Franklin who had written in its place " We hold these truths to be self-evident......" . after it was finished, it was presented to Congress and ratified. This makes Jefferson a "Founding Father".
